Block seminar on how artificial intelligence is reshaping political communication, democratic processes, and the distribution of power in media systems: AI-driven campaigning and persuasion, algorithmic microtargeting, generative AI and disinformation, and the politics of AI “hype” and AGI narratives. Built around in-class debates, hands-on prompting experiments, poster reflections, and a capstone project developing and critiquing AI strategies for real political actors.

Service

I am deeply passionate about building inclusive academic spaces and supporting early career scholars, through mentorship, representation, and creating resources that help newcomers find their footing in the discipline.

Board Member, International Communication Association (ICA)

Represents early career scholars across all ICA divisions and interest groups on the Board. Co-chairs an executive committee on inclusion, mentorship, and professional development; leads a resource library for first-time conference attendees; organizes workshops, mentoring, and networking sessions at the annual conference; and supports over 15 division-level student and early career representatives.

Co-Chair, Diversity Committee

Coordinates diversity and inclusion efforts in education, including a review of major Bachelor’s courses with junior lecturers; represents the department at faculty and university level; designed and analysed a survey of all incoming Bachelor’s students on perceptions of diversity.

Student and Early Career Representative, ICA Political Communication Division

Represented students and early career scholars in the 900+ member division: early-career preconferences, a mentor–mentee programme, and international networking events. Led the creation of the division’s FAIR Fund for inclusion initiatives and produced a newcomer’s toolkit, including a presentation guide.
